I have no idea either how to do what you just said, or what it means. Think of me as knowing you use the mouse to move the arrow, the keyboard to type, and the internet to get to websites. that's how computer stupid I am.
I created this animation in a program called "Flash". Flash is an animation application which uses vectors. Vectors are mathmatically created graphics, as opposed to raster/bitmap graphics, which is what most of the pictures here are. (Pictures that are created in paint, or photoshop, or photos that are scanned in are Raster graphics.)
Essentially, all the fundamentals of creating an artistic piece are the same. However, as Flash operates with a timeline (for creating animated pieces), when you use Flash, you can also incorporate sound.
Now, I might have lost you after "Flash"...still, if you want to know more about this, I'll be happy to explain more...but I hope this gives you an initial understanding.
